I cant get enough of summer (:

I never liked summer until I met Blake, but ever since he introduced me to diving into acrtic temperature waters, fishing, cliff diving, and one-man tent camping, I cant get enough of it. That pretty much sums up our summer, its been great! Our latest excursion was to the beautiful and evidently Boise-popular Oregan coast. It was a pretty good birthday present if I do say so myself!

Yes that is the ocean, and yes we are crazy! We swam everday we were there, and thanks to Brian and Clarisa the ice cold water didnt put me into hypothermia (:

We had a huge swell the last day, the waves were so big that only blake and my dad could get up to them!
--- and for anyone wondering about the "oven"---
ya its still empty. ):
However, I am excited to say the oven is much smaller, say about 10 lbs smaller! Blake and I have been exercising and eating well to get healthy before we get pregnant. I lost 10 lbs (thank goodness because I now fit back into my summer clothes) and Blake has lost a whopping 20! The update is I have an appointment in September to go see a fertility specialist and Im getting really excited! Wish me luck!

Yes, my husband is a Dawsons creek Hottie...

Before you meet my celebrity husband, you need to learn from our mistakes about early morning Adrenaline rushes... So here is our rule of thumb:
IF YOU HAVE 8:20 AM CHURCH
AND YOU WAKE UP
FEELING RESTED...
YOU PROBABLY MISSED IT. Coincidentally, I woke up at 8:24 AM, very rested. We were lucky enough to remember daylight savings but not enough to double check the alarm clock. hence the walk of shame trying to sneak in just as sacrament meeting is ending.
On to more interesting topics, you may think the picture below is my husband. Lately I have had several people swear to me that they have seen my husband on a TV show called Mercy. Little does everyone know, that Blake has had a huge acting career since High School, and he secretly flies to LA for his hit TV dramas. His best role was the hit series, Dawson's Creek, and he used the alias James Van Der Beek.

You may be saying, It cant be so! But it is! Here I am marrying James Van der Beek, that is why I look so happy!

Still dont believe me? Then how do you explain Blakes nickname is "Beek"!
so there. But do us a favor and keep it on the DL, we dont want Hollywood getting upset...

Alright alright, but do you want an actual dose of truth? Noah Wyle is a friend of the family.
True Story!

Good Practice I S'pose...

Ive never been accused of being Holly Homemaker, I thought things like baking bread were for old people who were bored. I used to fear going near sewing machines... I would get this kind of vietnam flashback of being little and getting pins stabbed into my feet after walking into my grandmas sewing room!
But after recieving a sewing machine from my hubby, i somehow overcame childhood foot injury trauma, and with the help of my mom here is my first piece of work!
I gave it to Clarisa and baby Trevor. Not bad for someone who broke 8 needles. Good practice right?

Confession Time!!! Baby Fever is outta the bag!

Confession time! We are trying to get pregnant! Baby fever has set in and I really cant keep it a secret any longer! However we have a massive downside... we have been keeping this a secret for almost a year now... and alas no baby yet. But we arent letting it get us down, which becomes a challenge when one of your best friends just popped out this handsome piece of work!
Clarisa and baby Trevor!
Awww!!! So now our secret is out, and hopefully it wont be too long before I can deliver a positive answer! (Puns intended)
For now though, my days are filled with watching A Baby Story EVERY day and crying after every birth, poppin prenatals, and getting so excited for our friends and families new arrivals. Its hard I wont lie- Jen, I totally bawled when you told Blake the news, haha! But we started trying last April along wth my Sis in law Jen who is now expecting, Clarisa who already gave birth, and then I thought, at least we have Shay and Kira, but now they are expecting!
Ah, such is life isnt it?

Until then, Ive got some fertility things to work out, so wish me luck!

Ahh, its resolution season!

Im channeling several people right now, one Progressive with my title, and John (friggin) Grogan from Marley and Me with how to wrap up my blogging dryspell, so here is my attempt!

Moved to a new house. Lost keys. Lost camera. Refused to blog because i didnt have camera. Blake won trip to Jamaica with his satellite store. Yelled at the company for not letting me go. Blake went to Jamaica. Found keys. Had Thanksgiving in Rexburg. Lost keys. Went to new ward, got called back into Primary, Blake still doesnt have a calling. Camie moved in. Callie came home, wants to move in. Met the neighbors, tried Amish friendship bread. Someone asked me "why did you want to be a nurse?" I said I like scabs. Best friend Ellen got married. Best friend Camie got married. Nephew got married. Made bets when Callie will get married. Did an accidental cookie with my car with oncoming traffic. Christmas Eve with the Summers, Christmas Day with the Heuers. Got new camera. Decided to blog again. (:

What a life (:
We are really enjoying our new place but we miss our old ward terribly! Blake's store continues to do very well and I still think i am so lucky and blessed to work with the kids and families ive been assigned to! We work very hard but the best part of the day is cuddling up with Blake in front of the fireplace(:

On Christmas blues...

It would be an understatement to say that there are many close to me who have found many many trials and tribulations this year. As the Holidays approach, we have even joked that the end of 2009 will be better than Christmas itself, and the best new years to date. I do agree that this year was certainly difficult.
There was certainly a lot of this:
And even a lot of this:
I will miss my friend Tasche Stone, her young life ended in January, two new babies and husband left behind. I will miss my wonderful cousin Kyle, who fought a horrible battle with mental illness until he was taken to our Heavenly Father. He was followed closely by both his grandparents. I will not forget my little patient, who I was just getting to know, and how her mom excused me from the room when we both knew her final minutes were gone. I wont forget friends near and dear to me as they have struggled for answers to their prayers.

But the trick to not letting a rough year give you the Christmas blues, is to remember to look around and find all the wonder and goodness and blessings around you... even if they seem hidden.
And my personal remedy, and one that I highly recommend, the healing power of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. This year I am celebrating the Holidays with gratitude for being alive and awaiting more adventures for next year! Because they dont seem to end do they...?
Smile and have a happy holiday and a merry Christmas, and lots of love to all of you. (:
